Third Watch is an American television drama series which first aired on NBC from 1999 to 2005, and followed the lives of a group of Uniformed Police Members in the New York City Police Department (NYPD) and a group of Uniformed Firefighters and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Members in the New York City Fire Department (FDNY). The events of September 11, 2001, were explored in the Season 3 Premiere episode “In Their Own Words” and episodes following that had references to what happened on that day. Regular Episodes featured the Police Personnel and Firefighters/Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Personnel handling different emergency situations and coping with issues inside and outside their jobs.
